A Journey Through Time

Whether you're a history buff, thrill-seeker, or curious explorer, Mesa Verde delivers a journey like no other.

Established in 1906 by President Theodore Roosevelt, it was the first National Park created to protect human history—not just natural beauty.

Home to over 5,000 archaeological sites, including petroglyphs, pit houses, great kivas, and the iconic cliff dwellings of the Ancestral Puebloans, Mesa Verde offers a stunning window into a civilization that thrived here over 700 years ago.

Mesa Verde isn't just a trip through a park...it's a trip through American history.

Experience Mesa Verde with Shaka Guide

On Shaka Guide's Mesa Verde National Park Tour, we'll lead you through the ancient wonders of this archaeological treasure.

Explore the cliff dwellings, hike through stunning landscapes, and discover the rich history of the Ancestral Pueblo people.

With Shaka Guide, you'll explore at your own pace—no rush, no crowds. You're in control, so take your time to soak in the beauty and history of Mesa Verde!

Planning Your Visit

For those just passing through, the park's big highlights can be experienced in a single, action-packed day.

However, to truly appreciate the depth and breadth of this archaeological treasure, we recommend spending two to three days exploring its hidden corners and lesser-known gems.

The biggest thing you'll need-to-know? You can actually visit Mesa Verde’s most iconic cliff dwellings in person. Yup—you’ll walk the very same steps the Ancestral Puebloans once did. But there’s a catch: you’ll need a pre-purchased tour ticket to get in.

Each site—like Cliff Palace, Balcony House, and Long House—has its own ticket and schedule, and tickets are site- and time-specific. That means no swapping tours or showing up late.

Check out our Know-Before-You-Go Guide for all the deets.

And now...get ready to embark on a journey through the ages, where every stone tells a story, and every vista holds a secret.
