Oahu has five distinct regions - the North Shore, Windward Coast, Leeward Coast, Central, and Honolulu.
The north shore is best known for its epic surf spots and colossal waves. The Windward Coast (or the western coast) features beautiful turquoise shores. This side of the island tends to get more rain, making lush rainforests. The Leeward Coast is the dry side of the island. You'll frequently find sunny skies here. It's home to the resort area of Ko Olina with luxury accommodations like Disney's Aulani and The Four Seasons. As for Central Oahu - here's where you'll find places like Pearl Harbor. And finally, there's Honolulu - Hawaii's capitol with iconic spots like Waikiki and Diamond Head.
