- • Parking at Waimea Canyon is $10 for non-residents and free for Hawaii residents.
- • Non-resident visitors must now pay a $5 entry fee per person to visit Waimea Canyon.
- • The only food stop in Koke’e State Park is Koke’e Lodge; otherwise you’ll find options in Waimea Town.
Wailua Valley and Waterfalls Tour
- • The tour can be started in Lihue or Kapa’a and is completed in a clockwise loop ending where you began.
- • The Kauai Hindu Monastery closes at noon. This means you will need to start at the recommended time if you plan to visit. It’s definitely worth it.
- • Tickets for Smith’s Family Fern Grotto Boat Ride, an optional side trip along the tour route, are $30 for adults and $15 for children.
Poipu and Koloa Tour
- • The tour begins and ends in Lawai, just outside of Poipu and travels in a loop.

- • Jodo Mission Buddhist Temple closes at 5 p.m. daily.
- • Poipu Beach Park is a great snorkel spot. Pack gear or rent nearby at Nukumoi Surf Co.
