Five Family-Friendly Hikes on Oahu
Oahu has dozens of hiking trails! Not only do these allow you to experience the scenic beauty of the island, they're a low-cost activity for the whole family. However, not every trail is great for kids -- some have steep inclines and rugged drop-offs. If you're traveling with kiddos, here are five family-friendly hikes to try on the island!
Five kid-friendly hikes include:
- Judd Trail
- Makapu'u Point Lighthouse Trail
- Diamond Head
- Waimea Valley
- Manoa Falls
Although these hikes are considered family-friendly, always take caution. Judd Trail and Manoa Falls get slippery after rain. Also, remember to always wear appropriate attire, like sneakers or hiking boots. At some of these trails, you'll see people attempt to hike in flip flops, but we advise against this!
Each of these hikes has unique scenery to discover. In Manoa, you'll travel through lush forest, while at Makapu'u you'll gaze out over Oahu's eastern coast.
