This guide has been awesome. It made the road to Hana come to life.

This was our first trip to Maui and our first adventure on the Road to Hana. We couldn’t have done the trip without Shaka Guide. It truly guided us the entire trip. Amazing experience!

The full loop Road to Hana is one of the best things we’ve ever done on any vacation. And the Shaka App is an absolute must. Entertaining, informative, great stories, nice Hawaiian music playing between waypoints. I cannot say enough good things about this app. It is just phenomenal. Also, don’t let anyone scare you out of doing the full loop. If you have a jeep or 4WD vehicle, are patient and courteous to local drivers, and just respect local requests (no parking, no trespassing, etc) it is not a bad drive, and by skipping it you will miss out on some truly breathtaking places in Maui. Thanks you to the team at Shaka app for taking a great experience way way over the top.

We did the Classic Road to Hana in March 2025. The Shaka Guide tour was perfect! It allowed us the freedom to do what we’re were interested in along the way rather than being stuck in a guided tour. It also took away the stress of trying to figure out where we should stop. It gave really helpful information about bathroom stops and timing as well so we could make sure we were going at a pace that allowed us to see everything we wanted and still get back before dark. It wasn’t just in for the whole time, there were breaks of fun Hawaiian music. I highly recommend! It was absolutely worth it!

This saved us so much money. It was great. U download before u go and it works with location seamlessly. The guid is fun and full of info. Let's u know when things are coming in advance give u some info u need before u get there with no pressure. I used this on the road to hana here in maui and I have to say I was so freaking impressed. Worth every penny.

We went on the Road to Hana in early March 2025. I got this app the day before and we just loved it! The narrator has a great voice that keeps your attention, but doesn’t cause you to get drowsy. The information is a variety of practical info, modern stories, and history. The music in between is suited to the area, and not obnoxious to listen to. A very well made app. It was so useful to have the guide tell us about upcoming stops and why we might be interested, but also what the next possible stops will be so we could make our choices. Most of the historical information was saved for the road back, which was interesting and helped pass the time.
