Tucked between towering sandstone fins, Sand Dune Arch feels like a hidden desert playground, with soft, orange sand that’s cool underfoot—almost like a beach, if you use your imagination. The short ⅓-mile walk takes you through a narrow canyon, where kids and the young at heart can’t resist digging their toes into the fine sand.
If you keep going, the trail leads to Broken Arch, a quieter, less-traveled 2-mile round-trip hike. Despite its name, the arch isn’t actually broken—just sporting a dramatic crack across the top. Maybe “Cracked Arch” would’ve been a better name? Either way, it’s one of those spots where you can slow down, take in the views, and appreciate how time and nature carve out something incredible.
