Although the park is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the park’s facilities have varying hours of operation and many roads are closed in the winter months. We highly recommend you visit the park’s website for seasonal road closures.

Yes! The tour has three starting points: Generals Highway, from Sequoia National Park, near Montecito Sequoia Lodge; Highway 180, heading towards the Big Stump Entrance; and
Highway 245, heading towards the Big Stump Entrance. Just make sure that you follow the numbers in chronological order from where you are starting.
If you don’t begin at one of the tour starting points you’ll miss a few stories, but you’ll still have a great experience.
It depends - the full tour generally goes west to east, finishing at the end of the road in Kings Canyon. The short tour sticks close to Generals Highway and Grant Grove, and generally goes east to west or west to east.
