Lassen Volcanic National Park may not be as big or famous as Yosemite or Yellowstone, but don’t let its lesser-known status fool you. This little park is a hidden gem! Tucked away in the remote corner of Northern California, Lassen’s fascinating volcanic landscape and stunning scenery are just as spectacular as its larger counterparts. In addition to pristine lakes and wildflower meadows, the park boasts the largest hydrothermal area west of Yellowstone and all four types of volcanoes, including Lassen Peak–the largest plug dome volcano in the world! Here, you’ll find bubbling mud pots, roaring fumaroles, boiling pools – and fewer crowds. Come explore this dynamic landscape and see how Nature is ever at work.
Here are just a few of the fun things you can do on the tour!
• Conquer the summit of Lassen Peak, a prominent volcano offering challenging hikes and breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
• Manzanita Lake: Enjoy the serene beauty of Manzanita Lake, ideal for kayaking, fishing, and photographing the stunning reflections of Lassen Peak.
• Bumpass Hell: Explore Bumpass Hell, a geothermal wonderland with bubbling hot springs, fumaroles, and vibrant mineral deposits set along a boardwalk trail.
• Sulphur Works: Witness the dynamic geothermal activity at Sulphur Works, where steam vents and boiling mud pots demonstrate the park's volcanic nature.
• Kings Creek Falls: Hike to Kings Creek Falls, a picturesque waterfall cascading through a lush canyon, offering a refreshing and scenic retreat.
