The Gifford Home and Museum was built in 1908 and is the last remaining original home in Fruita. Today, it serves as a small museum about life in historic Fruita, as well as a simple store where you can buy some delicious fruit pies. The home his run by the Capitol Reef Natural History Association and benefits historical, cultural, scientific, interpretive and educational activities at Capitol Reef National Park. This place can get busy so you may have to park in the lot across from the barn. There’s also a water bottle filling station just outside the home and picnic tables to enjoy your fruit pies.
